| Went into this pub around 4 years ago and had a great time watching the rugby league downstairs, lots of exposed stonework down there with low ceilings etc. 2 years ago I remembered this pub when looking again to watch a rugby league game, walked in and ominously the barmaid was at one end of the bar with around three strange characters, almost like a private bar. Cherrily asked her if the rugby was on, "we don't have Sky any more". It also looked like the downstairs was closed off. Had a rushed pint of some fizzy rubbish as it was a trek to anywhere else and only Tetley's on offer. | Not sure how this pub was ranked 9 - I walked 3 miles along the canal in expectation of a top pub but was very disappointed. No real ale for starters and little to justify a 9 rating. I turned around and walked back to Leeds. mikey64 - 26 Jul 2008 10:19 |
