The Dog and Partridge, Wretham

Great village pub, always a friendly welcome, currently serving Woodfords Ales from 3 handpumps plus largers and cider. Pool table in the bar and a seperate dining area if you wish to use it. Good Sunday lunch and they serve food every day ( I think ). Nice clean pub with a beer garden and carpark at the rear. Great access to the Peddars Way. The only downside for me is that I don't live local so only get to visit three or four times a year.

The Fox and Hounds, Heacham

A brilliantly honest pub with its own brewery attached. Always a good choice of their own ales and guests aswell. Very friendly staff and locals and dog friendly too. Try the beer festivals, very recommended.

The Coalheavers Arms, Peterborough

A great little unspoilt backstreet pub with friendly (on saturday anyway) locals and staff. Only tried one ale which was excellent and the wife said the toilets were spotless. Definitely one to visit again.

The Fur and Feather Inn, Woodbastwick

The Fur And Feather is a beautiful village pub, thatched roof, pond in the front garden and wooden beams inside, along with a lovely bar made from what appears to be a single slice from a very large tree. I cannot comment on the menu other than the delicious steak and kidney pudding served by friendly staff, highly recommended.
For me, the only downside was the price of the Ale, on average 40-50 pence per pint higher than similar ABV ales I usually drink, although the standard of the beer is excellent.
The brewery and shop is situated to the rear of the pub, and the shop is full of goodies to take home.

Charters Bar, Peterborough

Ale drinkers paradise, usually up to twelve ales to choose from, friendly staff, dark and very atmospheric in the lower deck with the East Restaurant on the upper deck. Dogs welcome (downstairs that is) and a huge seating area outside.

The Jolly Sailors, Brancaster Staithe

Great pub with good choice of Ale including their own Brancaster Brewery brews, although "Old Les" is sadly no longer with us ( a local legend of a beer). Dogs welcome and although the printed menu is mainly pizza the specials are more traditional and I can recommend the fish and chips and the gammon. Just visited their second Norfolk Ale Festival, a good range of local Ales and live music to boot.

The Wiveton Bell, Wiveton

A truly beautiful pub, very friendly and welcoming (even to our crazy spaniel). Visited on a midweek lunchtime and it was quiet but the menu looked excellent and we were told they were fully booked for meals that evening. The Ale was perfect and the pub spotless, oh, and forget peanuts in a bowl on the bar, here they have Liquorice Allsorts, and lots of them.

The Ostrich Inn, Peterborough

A great little pub with friendly staff and a good choice of very well kept (usually local) Ales. Only discovered The Ostrich six months ago but we now visit there every time we're in Peterborough.
