The Fox and Hounds, West Burton

Good beer in good condition (Cooper Dragon). Food cheap and cheerful but not special.

The White Lion, Cray

Good beer and excellent food. Roast beef lunch was superb.

Delirium Cafe, Brussels

Chose a good time to go - a cold weekday afternoon. Excellent list. Try the Rulles Triple for a hop hit. The Hoppy Loft is a great new bar and wasn't too busy in the evening.

The Ship Inn, Alnwick

Visited on a very cold May Saturday lunchtime. The place was faultless. They don't take cards but this was the only minor problem. Beer was excellent. Food was served promptly and was delicious. Staff were knowledgable and helpful. Looking forward to returning.

The Royal Oak Inn, Gillamoor

Good beer in nice surroundings. It's food-oriented but we were able to get drinks twice on a Saturday with no problems.

The Rock, Cambridge

You know from the outside what to expect: a food theme, a fairly bland menu, and the possibility of good beer.

The beer turned out to be well kept. Food was fresh and tasted good. Okay for a meal if you're staying in the area.

The Cross Keys, Thixendale

Small, basic pub with really good beer. Well worth seeking out.

The Lister Arms, Malham

This was very welcome after some scrambling nearby. The full Thwaites range on offer and the one I tried was well kept. Quiet and comfortable rooms. Good place for a jar.

The Fountaine Inn, Linton

The setting is fantastic and the pub itself does not disappoint. Good beer, sensibly priced good food. I wish I lived a bit nearer...

The Angel Inn, Hetton

Not a boozer. It's a restaurant serving food in the restaurant or in the bar area. Beer well kept. Food tasty and beautifully prepared as you'd expect at the price. The service was quirky.

Crown Hotel, Pateley Bridge

Perhaps we stumbled onto a private party, but the landlord was most unwelcoming. Beer fine. Certainly will not be rushing back here,

Hop and Vine, Hull

Very well worth a visit. Small cellar pub, but well kept ales and friendly host. The food is freshly made and very tasty. An excellent places for some quiet beers or a sandwich at lunchtime.

The Lathkil Hotel, Over Haddon

A really excellent place. The food, the beer, and the rooms are outstanding,

Hodgsons, Beverley

Popped in for a drink on a Friday before Christmas in the early evening. No clientelle and no real ale. Didn't stay.

The Wellington, Birmingham

Welcoming pub with 15 real ales. A real gem.

Ramsay's Real Ale Bar (at the Buckingham Hotel), Buxton

Six real ales in good condition and five other good quality beers from around the world available from the bar. Excellent home cooked food. This is an essential visit for anyone in Buxton.

The (fairly) recent renervation has left the bar a little spartan, but the beer and food are as good as ever.

Admiral of the Humber, Hull

Does exactly what it says on the tin. It's a biggish Wetherspoons, so you know what it's like. Lively mix of people, but also quiet corners.

Excellent pint of Schiehallion.

Delirium Cafe, Brussels

Potentially the best bar in the world. In reality not in the top 100. Superb selection of beers, but rude staff and uninspiring decor. Not going to rush back.
