Arc Bar, Bristol

Would be a good place if the bouncers weren't such unreasonable people. Also the management are unhelpful, and the whole thing seems to be rather badly run. Definitely not worth paying the admission, but not a bad place to party.

The Coronation Tap, Clifton

good if you like very alcoholic cider or a warm, dark and smoky drinker's "womb" but often too full and loud.

The Woolpack, Slad

Very nice pub - great beers - old spot, pigs ear and other Uley winners! Friendly staff, beautiful Quasi-Cotswolds location (Quasi=too close to stroud). Well recommended

The Nags Head, Belgravia

Supposedly one of the smallest pubs in london - no mobile phones (makes it a good place to talk to real people rather than listening to someone elses answer machine messages!), VERY cozy, nicely decorated, good beer (Normally a couple of Adnams, eg Bitter/Broadside), mostly friendly service and best when it is quiet: ie before the suits finish work - especially during the summer after 6pm the seats can be limited and outside on the street (Kinnerton Street) seems to be the place to drink then.

The Bell Inn, Bristol

Nice, quiet afternoon pub with good beer - ale and lager. Mixed but older evening crowd - friendly, relaxed - a great place to have a beer, just dont swear or wear a hat indoors!!
