The Britannia, Guildford

Things have changed. The manager (northerner I think) wanders around in a fur hat, treats his staff like the preverbial and has about as much people skills as a nazi camp guard. That's if he's even working. I don't know if shep/neame have there heads in the sand but this guy is a nightmare, his staff just seem to mop up behind him. Support this pub by all means but a change of manager is needed.

The Kings Head, Guildford

Good old fashioned boozer with cosy atmosphere. As a habit I always make my first pint Pride in Fuller's pubs, because if they can't get that right....happy to say fine pint, didn't eat but all in all nice visit. Smoking area heated if that's your thing and car-park aswell so rather tempting to leave the car and have another pint! Definately recommend, and will go back to try food. Loads of locals/regulars who were all welcoming not intimidating which was nice. Telly aswell though don't know if they show sport. 8/10

The Stoke, Guildford

Nicely run place. Food is good and also excelent value. Pizza I had was top-notch and ale was well kept and (something of a rarity) was a good temperature aswell. Good place to watch the match and there are a couple of pool tables I noticed. Haven't seen the comedy night but heard really positive reviews. Previous comments true though..men's toilet needs a bit of sparkle. 8/10

The Boileroom, Guildford

Live music venue not a pub as such.Service polite and efficient and the music is quite good sometimes but on the other hand it can make you run screaming to the garden which is situated through a novel "airlock" door system that keeps the noise in, thereby not disturbing the neighbours which is good. Have to be honest, only ever gone when I had some sort of connection with a band playing, but enjoyed myself non-the-less

Bar Centro, Guildford

Not really a bar, but you're not made to feel uncomfortable if you go in for just a drink. The bar's tiny so gets crowded quickly with people who are eating waiting to get seated. Bottle beers and wines only it seems, but did eat here and it was lovely. Not gonna rate it as,along with others,I don't think of this as a bar.

It's open now and has been since the eighth. In all seriousness, fair's fair, they didn't advertise that they were shutting, and for how long, but my affinity with this pubs stems from a real desire to see it do well. The good days of yester year need to be brought back and I went in for the first time since the re-open and it looks like they are trying to make an effort, Late Red, Spitfire and Bishop's Finger were on and were all top-notch.

Bar Med, Guildford

An absolute dive.

( The whole bridge street area around the traffic lights is like the anus of guildford. But give thanks people, every town does actually need somewhere like this so the chavs don't go to the other pubs. Keep the chavs contained in their Bridge street "ghetto")

Bar Med is really just a place to drink for drinking sake. They do show football, but I'd recomend somewhere like the stoke to watch your team. Because it has a "let's get hammered" vibe the prices are all low, so if cheap vodka redbull is your tipple.........

Fahrenheit 55, Guildford

Nice enough place I suppose. But the bar staff really need to learn customer service/smile. I appreciate that late at night as a bar person you're gonna encounter some pretty drunk wallys, but there's no need to treat everyone with an indifference that borders on being ******* rude. Try and smile and have a bit of banter in here, and they'll just assume (in an arrogant way) that you're trying to get in their knickers. Good beer, average atmosphere, but what really, really lets this place down is the staff. Apart from the manager, who's always nice.

The White House, Guildford

any pub that serves people who are banned on pubwatch doesn't deserve custom.

ThePilgrim should try running a bussness instead of being an arm-chair general....no, wait, you're right; Britain's oldest brewer doesn't have a "scooby". Yeah, that makes sense.
