The New Cross House, New Cross

A good addition to the New Cross pub scene, although I have recently started to go off this pub. The decor, atmosphere, beer garden, drinks selection are all very good, but the beer is terrible! There is a great selection, but at almost 4 a pint I expect it to be served in the correct glass (i.e I don't want Moretti in a Guiness glass), not a glass that has just come out the washer (warm) and most definately not flat!!! More often than not I have to take a beer back beacuse there is so little life in it and even then it's usually just average. At first I thought it was just me, but other people I've been out with have had a similar gripe. The Victoria in Peckam is owned by the same person and I've never had an issue with the beer there. C'mon NEw Cross House, stop Tweeting and sort it out!

The Rye Pub, Dining Room and Garden, Peckham Rye

A really good find, lovely decor and really cosy garden. Beer and food is good all in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Is it me or was I served by Di Fenner from Bad Girls last week?!?

All Bar One, Tower Bridge

A light, airy and spacious All Bar One, great location & views of the river. And a good spot for people watching too!

Zinc, Manchester

Great cocktails (even if they are a tad pricey)& a good bar to chill out & people watch in.

The Mayflower, Rotherhithe

Great food served in the cosy restaurant upstairs. I've eaten here twice and its always been top notch with friendly & efficient service.
Always busy in the bar downstairs and my only negative comment would be about how smokey it can get.

The Prospect of Whitby, Wapping

This could be such a great pub with its cosy interior and great views, but slow and often surly service with very average food is a major let down. A real shame that the management can't get their act together.

The Angel, Rotherhithe

This place must have the best views of the Thames in London. Excellent refurb job and great to have a non smoking bar upstairs.

The Ring, Southwark

Good pub with a laid back atmosphere and lots of black & white photos of boxers all over the walls. Only negative would be the terrible stench coming from the gents, which was truly awful.

The Slug and Lettuce, Borough

Good food and friendly table service, a good place to come for a long boozy lunch!
Can lack in atmosphere epsecially in the evening when it does have a bit of an airport lounge feel to it. But all in all a relaxed place with efficient sevice and you can normally get a seat

The Cutty Sark Tavern, Greenwich

Lovely in the summer when you can sit outside admiring the view and cosy in the winter too sitting around old beer barrels.
Good food served and full of character but a bit out the way to be a regular haunt.

The New Cross Inn / Bar Alchemy, New Cross

I much prefered this place when it was tatty, dark and with the ropey live bands!
Now its lost most of its charm and atmosphere and you are served by miserable chain smoking barmaids.
I really detest all the naff posters in the window and on the walls advertising drinks promotions or two for one offers and pictures of the faded food menu. This has such huge potential but its sadly lost on who ever owns or runs this place now.

The Rosemary Branch, New Cross

Thay play some banging house tunes at the weekend but there never seems to be anybody in there.
Last time I visited my beer off and I asked for it to be changed, the landlord said there was nothing wrong with it so I had to buy another drink. So much for the customer is always right!

The Ten Bells, Shoreditch

Mismatched tatty furniture with lots of trendy Shoreditch types posing in there. Gets really packed in the evening but looks too grubby during daylight hours. Absolutely freezing in winter as there is no heating!
Shabby chic gone too far!

The Old Harkers Arms, Chester

Good relaxed atmosphere, good food & service and a bit of a find away from the hordes of shoppers.

The Southwark Tavern, London Bridge

Probably the best bar in the area. A good selection of draught largers, bottled beers and wines. A good mixed crowd with a lively atmosphere and love the 70's wallpaper!

The Roebuck, Borough

One of my favourite bars in London. Great atmosphere, good food and really friendly service. Good during the day as well as the evening. Smashing burgers!

INDO, Whitechapel

One of the smallest bars I've ever been too! Really relaxed with friendly staff, a good beer selection, interesting art on the walls, good music and a very chilled vibe to the place.
