Radius Arms, Whyteleafe

Superb place, for all the reasons below. Go there now.

As well as two railway stations nearby, the 407 and 434 buses stop outside.

10/10.

The Black Horse, Sturminster Marshall

Now reopened as The Ginger Fox - a freehouse.

The Duke of Wellington, Brighton

Not bad little place. Decent pint of Butcombe.

Mitre Tavern, Brighton

Best. Pub. Ever. Superb pint of Best, also had Old and Christmas Ale on tap. Very traditional looking pub just off London Road. Staff very friendly. Leatherette benches - haven't seen that for years. Go there.

The Harcourt Arms, Marylebone

Bar staff were friendly and we tried the Swedish food which was good. Pint of Chelsea Blonde also nice.

Queen Victoria, Theydon Bois

Not at all bad, nice pint of McMullens and nice atmosphere.

The Constant Service, Brighton

Now this is a quality place. Being a Harvey's House, the beer on offer is, of course, excellent. Bit of a Brighton vibe going on here. The landlady was very friendly, and efficient, though despite her best efforts, I remained on the Best rather than trying the others. Garden outside, and a nice touch is the record player, with the cover of the LP being played on display. Thoroughly recommended - so much better than the city centre dross. I'll be back.

The Cobden Arms, Brighton

No longer serves Harveys. Only Greene King on tap.

Adam and Eve, Cheltenham

This is a quality pub. The veg garden is now a beer garden. Very friendly bar staff and locals, and the skittle alley was in action when we visited. But if the decent range of well kept Arkells isn't enough, it's worth a visit for when you need to get rid of the beer. Outdoors gents with black painted corrugated iron walls and old fashioned wall and trough urinal. Deffo worth a visit.

Cricketers, Blandford Forum

Nice pint of Butcombe Original.

The Edgecumbe Arms, Torpoint

Great place to sit outside in the summer, when you can sit outside and watch the ships. Nice pints of St Austell beer, food fine and staff friendly - recommended.

The Baltic Fleet, Liverpool

Great pub, called in needing a pint after a 4 hour drive up from Dorset. Must be the best pub in Liverpool.

The Rose and Crown, Southwark

Spent a couple of hours there in their garden during the early evening in June. Good Shepherd Neame pub with very reasonable pint of Spitfire. Pleasanc little pub nestling between and hidden by office blocks.

The Kings Head, Lewes

Was quiet for a Saturday, but did serve a decent pint of Harveys. Small garden/courtyard area pleasant on a summer June evening. Civilised staff and customers.

The Churchill Arms, Sturminster Marshall

Real drinkers' pub with almost no food on offer. They usually have Ringwood 49er which used to be abysmally kept, but is now much better. Looks a bit scruffy, and has the feel of a town pub of about twenty years ago - which in 2009 is no bad thing.

The Red Lion, Sturminster Marshall

Much friendlier than it used to be. Hopping Hare and Badger Best in this Hall & Woodhouse pub, always well kept. They do a three course meal mid week for 11 which is excellent value. New garden area and a field for children is good news in a pub where children were once effectively banned.

The Hyde Tavern, Winchester

Excellent little pub with interesting beers on offer in addition to the more usual Ringwood. Pleasant small garden, and you can also bring your own food, though I've not tried that. An oasis in a sea of urban chains and closures.
