Very disappointed to visit the pub on Saturday lunchtime to be informed that it is members only on match days. As a CAMRA official I was not impressed given the distance between the pub and Etihaad Stadium to find such a restriction. I will definitely remove this from my list of pubs to visit in Manchester as my custom was clearly not welcome.

The Prince of Denmark, Norwich
Very much a locals pub and whilst real ale was available it was like drinking vinegar so we left swiftly.
The people were friendly enough but the beer means that I am unlikely to return

Popped in a couple of weeks ago and must admit that it was a major improvement on my previous trips there 2-3 years ago. Maybe there has been a change of landlord but I certainly would not put anyone off going there now. Well kept Woodfordes Wherry and although I did not eat myself the food looked OK.

Expensive but a good boozer. If you are popping in for a couple of beers then this is the place but if you are in for a session I would check out cheaper alternatives in the area.
Bar staff are very polite and unlike many pubs actually have a good idea who should be served next (or at least when we were in there they did).

The Mad Hatter Hotel, Southwark
The beers here were in good condition but I guess being in a hotel were expensive even based on London prices. If you are looking for a quick pint then fine but otherwise I would look for a proper real ale pub

We popped in here last week on the way to Loftus Road and found the beers to be in excellent condition and it appeared that they were holding a minin beer festival at the time. Everyone in our party was impressed with the quality of the ale and will be back again soon

Decent pub with Badger beers kept in good condition. Fairly quiet last Tuesday afternoon but only found it by reading reports on here as it is not the sort of place that you are likely to stumble across by accident.

As Spoons go this is an OK pub and the beer was kept in reasonable condition and the service was perfectly acceptable compared to other Spoons outlets I have been in.

Decent pub with a good range of ales on. Fairly quiet on Tuesday afternoon but would certainly visit again when in the area but only after I had been to the Old Mitre first!!

Wonderful pub tucked away near Hatton Garden. Was in there last Tuesday and the Deuchars IPA was in superb condition.
Due to it's popularity it can get very busy but well worth searching out.

Went in on Saturday before football and must admit that I am surprised to read the previous report. Again no sign of goatee but every hand pump was in operation with no "coming soon" signs. Enjoyed a few pints of the Hawkshead Bitter and I must say that it was better than the usual standard for a Wetherspoons.
Based on my first experience of this pub I would have no hesitation in returning given the lack of real ale houses in close proximity and I have certainly been in worse Wetherspoon establisments before.

Trying to find a decent pub with real ales in Barnsley is not easy. Visited the Gatehouse prior to the Barnsley v Norwich game and the beers were in good condition. However, decided to give the Adnams Broadside a miss as a matter of principle as it comes from Suffolk and it was match day!!
Bar staff were very friendly and I look forward to returning the next time we are playing in Barnsley.

Decent pub serviving St Austell Tribute which was in good condition. Liverpool v Manchester United game was on TV and quite a lot o their supporters must have been on holiday in Devon as there were a good few in there!!!!
Well worth a visit if you are in the area but I wouldn't go out of your way to find it.

Sampled one of the local guest ales but the quality and temperature were not good and with the Fortescue just down the road I have no plans to return.

Visited pub recently prior to Plymouth v Norwich City match at Home Park. Tried both the Caledonian beers which were in excellent condition. Will definitely be back the next time Norwich are in Plymouth.

Visited here after the Unthank in the hope of sampling some decent ales. I certainly wasn't disappointed as the quality and selection was very good. The White Horse Village was in superb condition and I will certainly be making a return visit in the not too distant future.

Visited recently with some old school chums and whilst the food was OK, being a real ale fanatic, I have to say that the quality of the real ales were extemely poor (London Pride, Coyote and House Bitter). If you are looking for a meal without woorying about the ale then it is worth a visit but if you are going for the ale only then seek an alternative pub.

You will need to travel a long way to find real ale kept to such an extremely high standard. Admittedly some of the guest beers, especially the lower strength beers, seem a tad expensive but the quality is always guaranteed.
Good pub food and always seems busy particularly so when Norwich are playing at home.
A beer festival is held during valentines week each year so if you are looking for the perfect valentines gift then a night at the beer festival is a must.

Visited the pub recently for the beer festival having been there a few times previously. There is always an excellent selection of well kept beers served either by handpump or mainly by gravity. This was no exception and I would recommend this pub to anyone visiting Norwich.
Other pubs in the area that are worth a visit are The Whalebone, The Shed and The Kings Head (Magdalen Street) to name but a few.

Just round the corner from the Cayo I popped in for a couple of pints of the Vale of Glamorgan VOG which was in good condition. Watched the football on Sky Sports before watching the canaries at Ninian Park.

Visited pub recently as Norwich were playing Cardiff. Enjoyed a decent pint of Hoggy's Night Watchman from Marstons. Not a bad pub to visit near Sophia Gardens. It was quiet for a Saturday lunchtime with more Norwich supporters than anyone else.

Decent pub by the canal with 2 Real Ales on when I visited with the Dartmoor being in excellent condition. The cricket on Sky Sports was being shown at the time.
Enjoyed a good discussion with the landlord about Real Ale pubs and football and his brother very kindly gave me a lift from the pub to the mkstadium for the most disappointing part of the evening - another norwich defeat.

Visited this pub on recent trip to Bristol. Great liitle boozer with bags of character and a great selection of ales.

Very popular bar on the edge of Temple Bar. The Oyster Stout was in great condition but the Porterhouse Red was absolutely sublime. This is an absolute must place to visit everytime I visit Dublin.
The atmosphere is always very good but if you want to find a seat I would certainly advise arriving early.

Wetherspoons have scored a shocking own goal. As an official of CAMRA I arrived at the pub at 11.30am on Easter Monday for a meal and to sample the ales on offer. However, I was denied access and when I asked for directions to the nearest pub serving real ale the bouncers on the door were most unhelpful. They pointed in the direction of a pub and I asked if it definitely served real ale but got a blank expression (as expected there wasn't even a handpump in the place). I walked in the rain up down the road and down side streets in the search or a Real Ale pub but to no avail.
I will never visit the Gilpins Bell again as they quite clearly did not wish for my custom and there is nowhere else within walking distance that serves either Real Ale or food that I could find or anyone was prepared to direct me to. Never before have I been denied access to a Wetherspoons and there is absolutely nothing on their website advising that access is denied when Tottenham have a home game. Disgraceful.
