The Dudley Arms, Rhyl

Now called the Cob & Pen and offers Marstons Burton Bitter, Banks's Mild & Pedigree along with 2 local Guest beers.

Multiple screens for watching sports but by no means a sports bar, but has a quiet section just in case.

Clean and tidy with friendly staff.

Best pub in Rhyl.

The Swan Inn, Halesowen

Ignore the 2008 review, this pub has been taken over by the Black Country Brewery and now serves 8 real ales and 4 real ciders.

A notice on the door states no children or dogs (a decision made by the customers), but my 15 year old daughter was made welcome, so it's more of a policy to prevent screaming brats and wild animals than a blanket ban.

This was my local 10 years ago and it's present incarnation makes me wish I hadn't moved.

The Lych Gate Tavern, Wolverhampton

Definitely concur with the previous comment.

This gem and the Great Western are a must for any real ale aficionado in Wolverhampton.

The Great Western, Wolverhampton

What more can one say after the previous comments?

If there are only two pubs you can visit in Wolverhampton, this has definitely got to be one together with the Lych Gate Tavern.

The Shinnon, Chesterfield

Lovely friendly little local with the usual liquid fare as well as 2 guest real ales, invariably well kept.

Music at weekends as well as a Wednesday Quiz Night with free food and Deal or No Deal.

The Rykneld Turnpyke, Clay Cross

Excellent pub.

12 real ales on handpull, up to 6 brewed on the premises. 4 craft keg - try them and you'll be angry that the big brewers, obsessed with keg, have not produced such flavoursome brews. 4 real ciders. A multitude of quality bottled beers, malt whiskies and other spirits. You can even have a frozen cocktail if you want. That plus the usual John Smiths & lagers for the less adventurous.

Food is restricted to the excellent value cheeseboard or locally produced pork pies and huntsmans pies.

Arkwright Arms, Chesterfield

Can't disagree with anything said below. A really nice pub and well worth a visit.

The Blue Bell Inn, Bolsover

Good selection of real ales. The board outside advertises their beer garden as having spectacular views and it's no exaggeration!
Just popped in for one yesterday (Monday lunchtime) to check out the place, but will certainly go back when it's a little busier!

The Gate Inn, North Wingfield

Nice little pub offering food, which I can't comment on, but no real ale.

The White Hart Inn, North Wingfield

Just been completely done out and now has 2 screens for footy and, more impressively, 4 handpulls. Mansfield Cask & Pedigree plus 2 guest ales.

It's quiet at the moment, more due to the financial situation at the moment than any fault of the pub.

Well worth a visit as long as you're not after food which is not catered for.

The Gate Inn, North Wingfield

Open again. Haven't tried it yet but will post a review when I do.

The White Hart Inn, North Wingfield

Was never busy whenever I was in (Late 2007 onwards).

Under new management. Will post a review when I've popped in.

The Rutland, Chesterfield

Best pub in Chesterfield, as you may gather from other comments. Excellent range of real ales, 2 straight from the wood, and always busy though not uncomfortably packed when I've been in. Located next to the church you can't miss it.

The Gate Inn, North Wingfield

Unfortunately this pub is closed at the moment and has been since the death of the licensee in about August 2008.

The Monarch, Quinton

Ha Ha - Hasn't changed much then!
