Windass the Fox is the stinking pit where you can smell the toilet throughout the entire establishment. Rather says something about your character I feel. The Gunner is by far and away the best pub in the area and for a few more sheckles you get a decent pint with great service.

What absolute rubbish Windass is talking. This is a lovely pub with great staff that are only too willing to help. You spent nearly �20 Mr Windass wow!! This is the city of London my friend time to wake up and smell the coffee!!
Beer is more reasonably priced at �3 to �3.50 and the food is always excellent. One of my favourite city retreats and always busy.
Back to your half pint and peanuts Mr Windass you old fuddy!!

I agree on one of the points Darren but I also thought the downstairs restaurant was fantastic and also packed to the rafters in fact I will have to make sure I book next time to get a seat!!!

Not quite sure what all the fuss is about from everybody!!! This is a fantastic pub serving good food and fine beer and gave me prompt service. The �27-50 that Mr anonymous paid for his fish and chips was in fact Dover Sole and anyone who knows anything about food at all will tell you it ain't cheap!!!! I suggest he goes back to his frozen processed cod with limp chips and luminous mushy peas and moans in his pint to someone else because I thought this place was fantastic. Heartily recommended!!!!!

If a lack of character and atmosphere mean that you want a fight then I would stick to the North of Old Street too!
Not sure what people mean to be honest. Yes it is a little pricey but the staff are always friendly, chatty and swift and always seems to be busier than the surrounding pubs. Have tried most of the other pubs and it certainly seems to me that the old quote "you get what you pay for" is true.
