The Rowditch Inn, Derby

Excellent local pub with ever changing range of guest ales. New brewhouse at rear has brewed two different beers so far, both of which were well received by the regulars and visiting "tickers".

U-Vejvodu, Prague

Excellent pub that is popular with the locals due to the affordable prices. First impressions suggest it only has one bar, with an old brewery copper head above the bar itself; but venture down the stairs at the back and round two corners, this place opens up into a several large halls with many tables and seats. There is an upstairs balcony in one of the downstairs halls.
I quickly established this as my base, knowing the food to be good value and several local beers that suited my palate. Didn't make a note what they were called, but will on my return later this year. Great place, not too far from the lively parts of town but without the prices and stag parties. Open till 1 am.

U Fleku, Prague

I went to this pub at Easter 2005. It was my first port of call on my first visit to the city. I was surprised to discover that you could have anything to drink so long as it was the home brewed porter; conveniently it was also black. I managed to repel the schnapps after the first assault without any trouble. I enjoyed the atmosphere that I assumed to be typically Czech and the menu also matched up to the guide book's description of Czech cuisine, though the breaks when the ooom pah band(how do you spell that?) went into other rooms were welcome after a short stint.
Recommended if you've not been before, just for the novelty.
