The College Arms, Reading

If bad overpriced beers weren't enough (not to mention being slap bang in the multi-cultural third world slum part of Reading) they've now got amateur hour band nights. If you ever wondered why Reading hasn't got a music scene just spend an evening here and it'll all become clear...

The Hope Tap, Reading

Not only content with being an EDL haunt the Tappage now homes the equally scummy Unison rep/public sector crowd. NOT ON MY WATCH SIR; NOT ON MY WATCH! These taxpayer fund abusing scoundrels should be stopped from ever entering a hostelry period. As Peter Gabriel said I am on my way I'm making it but it is no small wonder with these total tool bags stealing our taxes with their wages-of-doing-nought-of-a-working-day. What beggars belief is one minute your fat bald gout footed cretin is giving it the jive talk whilst chowing down on a taxpayer funded breakfast then heading back to office for a hard afternoon on the local paper forums! A hard life is it not? Nay it is not; especially whilst being propped up by the taxpayer with bloated guttage!

The Blagrave Arms, Reading

Cracking pub with exactly the kind of dcor a real alehouse entails. Ex-Bobs staff make the place a joy to behold with friendly staff, good brew and reasonable prices. One of Reading's best kept secrets.

The Retreat, Reading

Is it still open? That Jason fellow was posting it is shortly to close...

The Diamond Tap, Newbury

The kegs are very fruity and so are the clientle! Wetherspoon's first gay bar by all accounts. Backs to the wall men!

Sean, you'll be a gaylord regardless of how many times you type it. Smirk.

Coopers Arms, Reading

Still not re-opened despite new furnishing and noticed the police were parked outside yesterday for a good period. On the grounds it looks like the place has been taken over by hippy squatter types this fails to surprise. Probably Polski types too!

Nags Head, Reading

I'd have to agree with the majority of negative reviews below; a dodgy pub with a very dodgy clientle. Mind you considering it is located on Oxford Road this should come as no surprise to anyone with half a brain.

The Retreat, Reading

The licence has been withdrawn so this backwater dive will shortly be closing. Considering the miserable gits that ran it were hardly inviting the clientle in no real surprise. Good riddance.

The Alehouse, Reading

A new name but still the miserable jobs worth level bar-staff. You can't polish a turd...

The Purple Turtle, Reading

Like the commentator below I'd have to agree this venue is a festering dung-hole with the clientle to match. I'd wager the only reasons it stays open are the late licence and the fact the local Law know the majority of Reading's lowlifes are housed under one roof!

The Hope Tap, Reading

This hostelry sports the glowing adornment of being the regular meeting place of the EDL Berkshire Division. Not being a Muslim this isn't a problem for me personally.

The Alehouse, Reading

Not a review as such but just to let you know we are now newly opened as Readings newest Gay pub. New tennants, new decor, new atmosphere. All are welcome so pop in for a beer and a bite to eat. An update to the info on this site will follow soon.

The Chequers, Woodley

That isn't Marge Jeb, her name is Mary. Overweight woman with an iffy temper late forties/fifty something? Sounds like her better 'alf Mark is getting the free cider although granted they do look very similar heh heh!
