Very friendly pub, prefer the Public Bar, where the landlady and dogs will welcome you. It is just yards away from Dragon, the best Chinese takeaway in the area (also in Wick Street) so you can support your local while waiting for your meal.

The Arun View Inn, Littlehampton
Very pricey pub, popular with an older age group who are happy to pay �15+ for pub food. Nice atmosphere, but clearly cashing in on its riverside location.

The George and Dragon, Burpham
This pub benefits from an idyllic setting, but many pubs in these positions become complacent - not this one. Inside the staff are alert and friendly - we were greeted as soon as we opened the door! The restaurant area boasts starched white linen with an informal atmosphere and the food is superb. Dog friendly bar - where meals can be taken - and water is always available outside. Far superior to the Black Rabbit on the other side of the River Arun.

Kevin the Collie has visited the New Inn and it has his seal of approval. Very friendly, for dogs and humans. If they they did some food in the evenings - even a few rolls - this would be a near-perfect pub.

My (elderly) mother visited and asked about food serving times. The cook was exceptionally rude to her and my Mother left, very upset. The Tudor Tavern along teh road is much more welcoming.

The Elephant Inn, North Finchley
Definitely the only real pub in Finchley - and the flowers outside are always superb. We are not living in Finchley at present but this is our top place over there.

The Chichester Inn, Chichester
The front bar is quite cosy, looks like a good traditional pub and there is live music (but admission is not cheap). The drawback is the blanket ban on dogs, very odd in an independent pub.
