Decent enough pub, my only critisism is that the barstaff tend not to notice who has been waiting to be served, the beer [I had Robinson's 'Iron Maiden Trooper' ] was kept well. Smoking area at front of pub.

3 Jul 2016 19:59

The Sandgrounder, Southport

Very noisy with both boxing & football on when we visited, smoking area is a cordoned off section of Lord Street but we consumed our beer [peerless Galaxian-which was an ok pint] out there, did not venture back inside.

Was not really impressed with this pub, had a pint of EPA which wasn't bad [also had Cocker-hoop on] but the interior decor gives the impression it wants to be a waiting room on a railway station.

28 Sep 2015 20:33

The Rose and Crown, Huish Episcopi

How come this is rated the top pub at 7.9 when other pubs, e.g. Brocket Arms in Wigan rated at 8.0 is not featured in the top twenty list. I think the list needs reviewing,

The ale was well kept and the regulars seemed friendly enough.[This review is of The Vaults, The Bull only had 1 ale on; Black Sheep]

The Triangle Tavern, Lowestoft

Large range of Green Jack beers plus two guest ales on our visits. Sign in the back bar said 'Hippies please use back door, no exceptions' but I had already entered via the front door and only saw the sign when I nipped out for a ciggie. 18 Sep 2014 18:58

The Priors Oven, Spalding

This is possibly the most unusual pub I have ever encountered, the downstairs room is a corridor around , I think, an octagonal bar. I reckon that 20 customers would fill it; although there is an upstairs room. Having said that, the ale was good & the barman very friendly. It would seem though that there was only one toilet for use by both sexes. Overall a pub I would recommend.

18 Sep 2014 18:57
