Stags Head, Louth

Should read "say goodbye to the Stags Head" not the White Hart.

Railway Tavern, Aby

Landlord has a very poor attitude to customers. Landlady is a saint extraordinarily hard working. Landlord does serve a good pint. There is often 3 casks on plus the normal run of the mill stuff. Also open all day apart from winter when they have one day off.
Again Landlord leaves a lot to be desired, thinks something is funny when the majority of customers don't. Oddly this behaviour is normally towards regulars as opposed to passing trade?
Food (supplied by the Landlady) is good rather great. Could be due to her staggeringly large menu.
The pub interior is fairly modern he does keep a good fire though. Decent sized car park. Pool table unless some event is on. Sports fans note Telly on most of the day.
Has normal pub quizzes etc but has more events on than most pubs check there site.
Landlord 2 out of 10. Landlady 9 out of 10. Therefore rating 5.5. Get a grip you could do a lot better.

Great pub destroyed by new licences. Previously this had been a Thai restaurant and pub. Normally 2 casks on. Food highly rated I regularly eat there. Beer faultless but this was more of restaurant than a pub. New Licences said "we want to make it more of pub". Last time I was in there there were 2 beers on.......both pumps Bateman's XB?? "we" said the barman "haven't got the demand" for more than one beer?
Closed during the day previously open 6 days a week day time and 7 days a week night time. Supposedly some of this was due to alterations to kitchen...why? His food is terrible. Been told he was closed Sunday dinner time 16 February. Most pubs busiest time. Closed all day Monday Tuesday open night only rest of the week but only till 10pm. "Hoping to open during the day sometime this year"
Another pub being ruined by people who think they know how to run a pub when clearly they don't.
Say goodbye to the White Hart😠😠

Now then!!
Very nice pub. Excellent atmosphere. Landlord knows how to keep his beer but don't expect it cold you get it the way it should be served..... room temperature..... so you can taste it. Of course if you are one of those who like foul freezing cold lagers he sells them.....it takes all types! Expect 3 cask ales both locals and foreigners. Adnams for instance. The bar meets the definition of a snug maybe a little to snug. Food I have heard is good, yet to try will let you know. Plenty going on at night quizzes and meat raffle, typical rural pub pursuits. Landlord and Landlady took it over 7 years ago and as they are busy, unlike a lot of badly run pubs they must have got it right. Get down there!

Landlord is one of the most obnoxious people I have ever come across avoid like the plague. His only saving grace is his decent Indian meals when he does them.

White Hart Inn, Tetford

Vastly improved of late. Nearly always 3 cask ales on. Bands on regularly if you like that sort of thing! Food, always good (especially Sunday dinners) is now even better. Bar meals/sandwiches excellent. They now have a tea room, to large extent supported by the letting rooms (unused before). The latter is becoming very popular with motorcyclists going to Caldwell. Fishing lakes and small caravan/camping site nearby add even more customers to a pub which is now thriving. Well worth a look in but leave Brain's Brewery Reverend James alone that's for the locals!!
