The Mark Addy, Salford

The barmaid was channel hopping on the TV whilst eating her lunch in an almost empty pub. VERY irritating. Nice location, but seriously needs sorting out.

The Town Hall Tavern, Manchester

This pub has closed down recently.

Odd Bar, Manchester

A pleasant place to sit outside and watch girls go by.

Mother Macs, Manchester

There's something great about this place, but it's hard to say what exactly. Friendly, honest, still smells of smoke years after the smoking ban. Great pictures of old Manchester on the walls. A favourite of mine.

The Lord Nelson, Manchester

A rough place. A lad in the door way was speaking on his phone about stamping on someone's head.

The Lass O'Gowrie, Manchester

A very decent pub that manages to appeal to many different types of pub-goer: real ale, football, video games, food, music, students, bbc workers, etc. I particularly liked the small square room off the main bar. It's was a quiet cosy retreat (when I was there), in the traditional style, books lining the walls etc, but the original artwork of comic book illustrators on display was truly excellent. Well done The Lass for really making the effort and using some imagination. I wish more pubs could be like this. 9/10

The Gullivers, Manchester

I concur with manc72 - 'interesting' late afternoon karaoke - the place was heaving and everyone was really going for it. Quite welcoming but more than a bit edgy too, with plenty of characters to talk to. Not sure what brand of mayhem ensues later on... A full-on experience for sure, personally I was relieved to get out!

The Crown, Manchester

A good place for people-watching, as it's pretty busy, with a dancefloor, and a good mix of clientel. Loud but reasonable music, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

The Crown and Cushion, Manchester

A contender for a last pint before catching the train at Victoria. Atmosphere seemed like a working mens local, friendly and sociable, with no hint of menace despite the walls covered in pictures of boxers. All in all not bad, and far better than the nearby Ducie Bridge.
