The Shoulder of Mutton, Bradford

we call this pub the madhouse due to the assortment of characters this pub seems to attract, but it is friendly enough the beer is usually good, and the banter top notch. love the snug at the side of the bar if you can get a seat in there.

The Fighting Cock, Bradford

been going in here since the very first night it opened an absolutely cracking pub. decent enough prices, and great friendly folk, and barstaff, if you have'nt been here you don't know what you are missing.

The City Vaults, Bradford

the salamander, in here is always very well kept the prices are pretty reasonable and the bar staff are very attentive, definately worth a call if you are in bradford.

The North Bar, Leeds

great selection of real ales and bottled beers from around the world 1st class bar staff. the only downside is the prices, if you plan on spending the entire evening here take a lot of money with you.

The Angel Inn, Leeds

bags of character and chock full of characters, the beer is always in decent enough nick. with the added bonus that they sell, wheat beer on draught quite a rarity in sam smith's pubs these days. hope you don't need to go to the toilet here though, as quite frankly most of the time they are a disgrace.

The North Bar, Leeds

what a great bar this is the clientele, is mainly a student, bohemian crowd, great atmosphere wonderful selection of foreign beers, plus around 4 well kept real ales, i was lucky enough to come across, a bottle of, goose island, mild winter, from my favourite american craft brewer, based in chicago, absolutely top notch, take a well filled wallet when you do come here though, because it certainly doesnt do cheap.

Sportsman, Huddersfield

i frequent this pub on matchdays, great atmosphere, a well thought out selection of beers, friendly service, and great value, top quality food, when in huddersfield this is part of a long chain, of must visit pubs, on what is becoming the real ale capital of yorkshire.

The Black Bull, Kirkgate

a wonderful atmospheric pub, which if you are not a local is quite difficult to find, just one guest ale, which mostly alters everyday, due to the barrels been 9's, beer almost always in tip top condition. also the service is first class, well worth seeking out.

Kay's Bar, Edinburgh

in a city packed to the gills with good pubs, this is my favourite, grat beer and very friendly attentive staff, in all my years of going here whilst on holday, i still struggle to find this pub, but its always worth it.

The Cumberland Bar, Edinburgh

i've always liked this pub, beer ok while not been great, nice selection of malt whiskies, my main quibble with the pub is the price's i found it to be the most expensive pub in edinburgh, on my last visit.

Horse and Jockey Inn, Birstall

only ever 2 real ales on at this pub, one is john smiths cask, which is permanent, the other is a guest ale. both beers are always served in excellent condition, at this very busy, birstall village centre pub, and thats what makes this pub well worth a visit if you are ever in the area.

The Duck and Drake, Leeds

i was in the duck & drake again saturday night, and a member of staff. confirmed the pub is now up for sale, not suprising really, as they're was just 13 people in saturday night. lets hope whoever the buyer is, they can make this once great pub, rise up from the ashes again.

Fanny's Ale And Cider House, Saltaire

i go to this pub approximately every 4 months, and this pub is changing, the crowd that got in here at one time, came from all walks of life. these days the pub is packed with middle class trendies, that gripe apart the beer is still very good, and its still a pub, i will have a trip to in a few more months.

The Duck and Drake, Leeds

to concur with the last post about this pub, for me its been poor for a couple of years now, ever changing management with no commitment to real ale. the beer standard for me is poor, i have left quite a few beers in there recently. i have been told they have sacked jim, and long time barman / cellarman shaun, is seriously considering leaving. things just cant get any worse there at the minute.

Whitelocks, Leeds

nice to see the top bar open saturday nights, quite worringly everytime i come here which is quite a lot, most of the pumpclips are turned round, they are either selling a lot of real ale, or just cant be bothered, to have all the pumps working, i am not sure which it is.

The Leggers Inn, Dewsbury

out of the way pub well worth seeking out, a great variety of beers on tap, in good nick, and very competative pricewise, folfs in there are nice and friendly too.

The John F Kennedy, Dewsbury

i go in here most if not all sundays, cheapish beer, and a fantastic landlord, in ted with whom you can, talk about any subject under the sun, beers not bad either despite being restricted to just one or two beers on.

The Grove Inn, Huddersfield

for me a pub going from strength to strength, for me the best pub in huddersfield at the minute, and to be honest at this moment in time, in west yorkshire.

The Rat and Ratchet, Huddersfield

the rat for me is a good pub, i have never had a bad pint in there, but i have never had an outstanding one either. though it still is a must call on a huddersfield pub crawl.

The Slubbers Arms, Huddersfield

great idiosyncratic pub, carrying on where the previous landlord, dave green left off. beers are always in top nick, the locals are friendly. well worth the short trip out from huddersfield town centre.
