Always try & get over here when I'm in Manchester - proper feel to this place, from the beer to the authentic Manc attitude of the staff (& I mean that as a compliment). Small enough to be cosy but without the occasional "no chance pal" attitude of the Circus next door.

Sorry that this is going to be more of a restaurant review, but we booked a big table to celebrate my daughter's 18th at the weekend & the staff couldn't have been more attentive & helpful. Managed a few rounds via the bar as well so can confirm that that aspect seems to be working too. I agree that you do need to go that bit further from the main roads on matchdays though.

Tried to call in here tonight as was in area to say best wishes to new Manager, as she was AM at my local in N1. However told it was closed at 9:30 pm. Pity, but I suppose they must be minting it if they don't need my custom...

Had dinner here last week - excellent food, attentive staff & highly rated pints of Black Sheep. Will certainly come back.
