A really great pub with good (mostly home-cooked) food. The range of beer is quite extensive and staff are very friendly a extremely efficient. The decor has recently been greatly improved and Rob, Ellie and Barry the joint leasees are really making this the pub to visit whilst in the picturesque village of Writtle.

A great pub with a (too?) extensive menu. Great beer, food, wine, staff and atmosphere. No pre-booking of tables so great for those last minute arrangements. Try the baked whole camembert with crusty bread and apples.....too good!

A tiny pub but great licensees and IPA Green King beer. Try one of their cheese or ham sandwiches in french bread.......bet you can't eat two!! Located just off of the village green it is an ideal place for a Sunday visit with the family and then feed the ducks on the pond.

Great pub frendly staff great area cracking other pubs nearby.

The Cock and Bell, Writtle
This pub has closed down!!! It is now a really great restaurant called the Blue Bridge.
