I quite like it in there, although you do feel you've aged ten years by the time you step back out. Always seem to find myself on the whisky when in here, as I fear that if I order lager I'll be looked on like a chav, trying to be trendy, who has no idea of the struggles of the older generation.

A truly depressing place to drink. It genuinely has no character whatsoever, especially since they got rid of the pool table. �4 a pint for the privilege as well.

I honestly have no idea how this place is still open. Went in there once at six on a Sunday evening with my brother, we were the only two in there. Ordered a pint and a quarter of an hour later the landlord comes over and says "I'm gonna close lads, you can have one more if you like though", with a real air of defeat in his voice. We all felt embarrassed by this stage so we downed our drinks and left. Very surreal.

Went in there at four on the Bank Holiday Monday just gone, seemed pleasant enough until the singer started up. Blaring would be being kind, he wasn't all that either. Seven and a half quid for a Fosters and Strongbow too. Ugh.

Massive beer garden is a plus when there's not a load of kids running around. The barstaff seem in their own world at times though, slow service every time I visit, which is depressingly often, seeing as the nearest place in walking distance is the dreaded Metro.

Very much a locals pub and therefore not overly friendly, but never had any trouble here and at the very least it has a pool table. Nowhere else local does.

A last resort if ever there was one. Bland doesn't do the place justice, it serves a purpose and that's it. Infact, you always feel slightly ashamed walking in this place, surely you could be doing better things with your time. Good quizzie though, has Bullseye: Football, which is usually good for a payout. You can only ever win �1 on the main game, which is annoying. But that's another story for another day.

It's been done up well enough since it changed from being a Hoghshead and the prices are reasonable as you would expect. That's as much as you can say that's positive though. Like most Sidcup pubs, bereft of an atmosphere and one of the 'Team Leaders' in there thinks so much of himself it's cringing.

I really want to give this place a scathing review, as it's tiny, cold and dingy, but I have to say I've never been given any grief by either the bouncers, the barstaff or the regulars in my many visits here.
Still a crap pub experience though. Went in there last Saturday at around half eight and there were only about seven people there. Avoid.

It's okay for what it is, but I can't help feeling it's held in a ridiculously high regard by some. Never a semblace of an atmosphere and if you're under 50 people look at you like you're from another planet.

One of the worst places I've ever been to. Horrible music, horrible clientele who couldn't care less if they were barging into you as long as they could jump around to an incredibly commercialised Nirvana song and the most OTT ID system I've ever known. Truly horrible in every sense of the word.

Very decent IMO. Staff are friendly, prices are okay-ish and plenty of pool tables. Very good to watch the football in, the atmosphere for the England - Croatia game was excellent, although I suppose thrashing them helped.

Pretty terrible in all honesty, the sort of place where evry single good seat is taken even if the place is a third full. In the booths especially, all you hear is groups of people shouting at eachother and young-ish girls caterwauling about something or other. I know this sounds miserable, but Sidcup truly is an appalling place to have a drink and this is a prime example. Roll on this much talked about Wetherspoons.

The Charcoal Burner, New Eltham
It's a bit of a joke of a place really. The toilets being in the middle (and you have to walk through them or go outside to get from one bar to the other) is something you would have thought would've been sorted ages ago. They could probably add three floors to the place with the prices they charge. It's a pub on the corner on a Sidcup street, so why so much for a Fosters and a Kronenbourg?
I've never known there to be anything resembling a decent atmosphere in there either. A last resort pub if ever there was one. Surprising I go in there so often really.

One of the very worst pubs I've been in. Laughed at when ordering the mixed grill, because some poor lady (presumably it's part of her job description) had to cook it all. Wonders never cease, myself and my brother were told five minutes after ordering that we couldn't have what we asked for as nearly all of the ingredients were unavailable. Evidently that was a bit of a setback, and I'm sure nothing to do with the fact that the staff couldn't be bothered. Settled for the steak and ale pie, which was more expensive although no refund was offered. Two minutes later, another member of staff tells us all there is a mincemeat pie, which when it arrived looked nothing like it did on the menu and you'd find similar quality in your local Tesco without having to pay �7 for the privelege.
Add to this the fact that we were looked at like lifeforms from another planet when we walked in because we were under the age of 70, the place is ludicrously small, and you had the drunken old fool who had clearly been beating down the door at opening time asking us if we were English (no, I didn't understand that either, we were in Eltham high street for God's sake, it's hardly a tourist hotspot) and this is a truly dire pub experience. Avoid at all costs, unless you're not long for this world.

The Railway Hotel, Dartford
Seems to be closed, not sure why, didn't seem to be any warning. Shame, was half decent. Nowhere convenient to go if the trains are cancelled now.
