The Star Hotel, Weymouth

I highly recomend this place to anyone, this is on my top list of places to drink and this is why......go in there and meet the landlord Graeme and tell him your name.......then go in there a year or 2 later and i guarantee he will still remember you by name. He and his partner Sue have had this pub since i moved into this town (1992) and are still going strong despite a few fatal illnesses and a smoking ban possibly theatening their livelihood. They are the nicest people you will ever meet. For a small back street pub they have skittle teams, dart teams and i think a pool team so on rare occations when its quiet it's a nice place to relax with a pint of beer and chat with a few of the friendly locals. Park street does have a reputation for the trouble in its pubs but can honestly say that the Star has never had any kind of trouble......infact i don't think anyone has ever swore in there.

The Dorothy Inn, Weymouth

I love this place, it has some fantastic live bands like Beaver and The Crack, and if thats too loud for you then there is a bar upstairs playing some classic music from 1970 to 1990. There's Karaoke on which is always good for any pub entertainment, but the hosts are hidden in what i call a garden shed. It is true that upstars can be full of ermmmmmm.....mature people, but end of the day we are all getting old and the day will come when we go into a club and some snotty teenage kid will tell you to "piss off Grandad/Granny....init past your bedtime???" This place does also have a reputation for fighting but i must say the hundreds of times i've been in it's been a good atmoshere and if anything does kick off Stevie and his crew are on the case fast. As for real ale's well i couldn't give a toss but i would like them to maybe have a total referb as the place is looking a bit dated....take a leaf out of Dusk's book's boys, it could bring you better clientel.

Bar Banus, Weymouth

I must admit this is no cheap bar, but you do get your money's worth when your in there. Good reputation for having some of the Uk's top Dj's and performers, and must admit that no other club in Weymouth has 4 floors with different music happening on each. Bad point is the smoking area outside, cause they put a rope around it and lock you in like some kinda animal, and if you wanna leave the club you can't go underneath it, you have to go all through the club, upstairs then downstars just to get out.....pointless. But all of this is on a weekend night, during the day it's a totaly different place serving tea and coffee, very relaxed with very friendly staff. Oh and love the oversized fish tank on the bar.

Bar 2012, Weymouth

This place has had a good turn around from The London Dome as it was. The staff are friendly even the security outside have a sense of hummor, and i must say for a small place it has a lot of different spirits to keep a pub crawler like me busy for a year. Well kitted out.....Good job.

The Clipper, Weymouth

I went in this pub on new year and what a mistake it was. What i saw inside was a mess. There was broken glass all over the dancefloor (try using plastic on new years eve you donkey's), my feet stuck to the carpet after standing for more than 2 seconds, a beer glass flew right past me and smashed up the bar and to top it all off the crap the Dj was playing could have sent me to sleep. There was door staff, but they all looked like they couldn't be arsed. I left soon after. Atleast when it was the Rectory it used to be popular

The New Vic, Weymouth

This bar must be the best family pub in Weymouth. I took my kids into the play area and was supprised how cheap it was and how well well they were looked after by the supervised staff. The food was great too, allthough there was a lot of it and had to leave some. If anyone is planning to go i would highly recomend going on a saturday night when Chicks Karaoke starts, he has the most outrageous speakers i have ever seen in my life, but the atmosphere and the music makes it a fantastic trouble free venue for all ages.
