The Donkey, Tilford

Tried posting this before but failed. As a small party of walkers we received a really friendly welcome in what is quite a small pub catering mainly for diners. There were three real ales - Fuller's Pride (which we had and was a good pint) GK IPA, and Courage Best. The coffee drinker raved about the coffee ("the best cup I've had") and she loves her coffee.
On a cold and wet day the artificial gas fires were also a bonus. Pity there was no locally brewed beer.

The Florence, Herne Hill

Used to go here 'til the handpumps were removed. Could see no real ale in the 'Florence' resurrection, lots of chrome though if you like that sort of thing.

The Brockwell Park Tavern, Herne Hill

Now called "Florence"! Looking from the outside, a cafe/bar, lots of chrome, could see no real ale. Try the Commercial to the rear.

The Barley Mow, Tilford

On a cold wet day on the whitsun bank holday, we, a small group of walkers, were made to feel very welcome, especially with the two log fires that were burning. Landlord was available(our choice) plus three mainstream real ales.
Because of the comments made before, we chose to meet at the Donkey for the start of our circular walk, but must say we all found the really friendly and the service and beer good.
Only odd event that jarred a bit was when the barmaid (who appeared unwell anyway) broke a couple of glasses cutting her hand in the process, and the senior bar woman (the owner?) was extremely unsympathetic. Lovely pub, lovely setting. Pity no locally brewed beer.
