Lewes Arms, Lewes

After another visit I have to say this pub is very far behind of what it used to be.

Well done Greene King what a splendid example of how to completley ruin one of Englands finest drinking houses.

Lewes Arms, Lewes

Today is a sad day indeed. It is the final day for Harveys champion Sussex ale.

How Greene King can make such a decision from so far away is astounding. they do not give a damn for the likes of the traditional public house, despite what they advertise. Bigotted business men in suits only interested in their own opinion. The corporation will have its way irrespective and at all costs.

Well, they have interfered with my social life too much on this occasion, as well as others too.

To all you people who have occasionally travelled some distance to visit this once fantastic hostelry please give it some deep consideration before you do so again. It may not be worth it!

Royal Oak, Lewes

A friendly pub with fine seasonal and varied foods and a kiddies bar for sweets.

Outside there is the newly decked rear yard with tables and seating.

Unfortunatley it is one of the ex Beards houses that Greene King will not allow to sell Harveys though the Ruddles does make for a pleasant change occasionally.
There are usually at least another 2 ales available too.
