You are spot on with your comments, not surprising when I walk past this, erm well what is it pub cafe coffee house??? they don't have a clue what it is, to go elsewhere I am glad I had the row with the vermin bouncers and got barred. Goffy Rich (get the personality transplant or carry on baggage handling on your days off)your pub sucks and I hope it goes down the pan it won't be long haha

Watch out for your pie Murray the Reigate boys are coming to town! proppa pub
11 Jul 2009 10:00
Great pub and the Kroney is 45p a pint cheaper than most of its rivals
23 Apr 2009 08:15
I agree with ploppy 16th April 2006. Lager, 2 varietys' both warm, we left
12 Mar 2009 17:27
Management has changed again! Food seems to have improved and beer good and not gone up Hoorah!
6 Sep 2008 10:24
I went in here for a couple of pints with Niggly Nagle the other week and apart from taking a while to get served because the barmaid was being chatted up by a punter, was very impressed.
6 Sep 2008 10:13
Someone has nicked my trick with the super glue and 2 coin boo hoo. Still the best bar in Reigate by far. Open longer hours in the sunsheeee-ine please
1 Jul 2008 18:30
2.90 for apint of Kroney is the cheapest by far in Reigate. Great since the smoking ban and the maager and his Mrs even though northerners are very friendly, unless it has changed again in the last fortnight
1 Jul 2008 18:28
The boss is a bit of a "misog" I left my paper on the bar the other lunchtime and he moved it in case any of "the staff stopped to read it" They do have Kronnenbourg Blanc though even if it tastes a bit watery
14 Mar 2007 19:06
Why? I think they use Locally Sourced instead of lets just rip off the punters with a trendy phrase. 8.95 for some leaves, olives and a bit of feta cheese, I thought it was the starter the portion was so small. Nice to sit outside though
6 Mar 2007 12:33
I went in here last week for a swifty after work. most of the draught beer was off and the back area was all taped off, I think they may have a problem with flooding in the cellar. I stuck to bottled Bulmers and dropped 75 out of the frooty and left so no too bad an experience
4 Mar 2007 16:21
Took the good lady here for a Sunday Lunch last week. Good Food, Good Value, Good Service, Good Atmosphere, worth a trip
4 Mar 2007 16:03
I pop in here sometimes on the way home from work, Good range of beers, inc wheat beers. Bottled stuff a bit expensive though. Food good VFM not sure about the piped Jazz music??
10 Feb 2007 13:54
Not the best pub I've ever been in but good by Horley standards and tons better than it was 20 years ago it was a real hole then. A nice pint of export, sky sports and won 50 out the bandit which gives it an extra point
16 Jan 2007 20:16
I had my first pint in here when I was 9 we had been out collecting straw, ee it were tuff in them days. A pint of bitter shandy and a bag of Golden Wonder Salt and Vinegar in the cab of the old mans lorry. Got a right buzz out of it and never looked back?? I've been with mates and 6 kids last year and we were treated ok the grub and juke box good too. Aaahh 1973
16 Jan 2007 20:11
I heard this pub is full of Raliegh Bikes these days, is that a bad thing?
16 Jan 2007 20:05
Always will be my fave drinking spot, good memories in here. The superglued coin gag(before they did it on telly) sitting outside all afternoon in the sun while I was supposed to be at work for ntl: watching the world go by and NEVER a bad pint HAPPY DAYS Just wish it was open more. Come on everyone pester James and Adrian to open up Summer lunchtimes!
1 Jan 2007 11:12
Been in here at lunchtime and if you are starving try the "Bellburger" and chips it is massive. Nice landlady but it might take a bit of something special to get it back to how it was in the mid-late 80's when Steve an Lyn had it. It was rammo then
22 Oct 2006 13:06
Hooray the grat publican in the sky has seen the sense to knock this vermin filled boozer down RIP
26 Sep 2006 17:22
See the tumblewed blowing through here all day now, lovely. Shame more younger people don't see this website and keep away weekends then it would go bust. My mission that I chose to accept would then be accomplished. Luv Tom C and the weird church people
26 Sep 2006 16:56
Guvnors in here are as good as gold, mind you always enjoyed this pub/bar and had fun in here. Afore mentioned door staff tried the bully boy tactics to bar me but over ruled by licencees, fair play to them and 1 in the eye for spirit and co and 1 up for normal drinking blokes, happy days
20 Aug 2006 20:44
Funny, I said I would never darken this pubs doors again and guess what 4 weeks later word goes around I'm barred? (never been barred from a pub in my life)talk about giving someone the sack after they already quit. Like I said neanderthal bouncers (who actually know that I was correct over our little dispute) Miss you Les and Jenna!
20 Aug 2006 20:39
See Quality Pub but now have those w@nkers who work for SPIRIT working on the door a ............. he loves himself with weirdo leather strides BAR ME IF YOU WANT, I WILL BE MAKING COMPLAINTS TO THE SIA YOU PONY TAILED TOSSA
14 Jul 2006 22:55
Gods smokey waiting room, strange mob but they seem to like it.
12 Jun 2006 18:38
The new look Food Emporium is a bit bland but comfy. Main moan would be the price of food considering they claim to use "local" "seasonal" products you'd think they were cheaper than those out of season and hauled in from a long way? You can get the same quality cheaper at a lot of other local foody pubs. Staff polite.
12 Jun 2006 18:25
They have a big telly for the world cup and Cobra lager. A bit smoky in that bit though and at least they haven't got the "Ember Inns" fire burning at the moment like "the management" make them have on the rest of the year PHEW!
12 Jun 2006 18:19
Had my first beer in here when my numba 1 daughter was born (1991) judging from the last comment it hasnt changed much since then- GOOD Oh had numba 4 more since!
7 Jun 2006 19:36
8.25 for a Blanc and 2 diet cokes, it was a match day or is it always that much of a rip off?
23 May 2006 20:41
no smoking restaurant pub. Good food a little over priced but good food, Go her rather than the Plough at Earlswood for a Sunday roast
23 May 2006 20:31
Seems a bit of a "locals" pub who are "drinkers" Steve the landlord made us feel welcome, nice range of beers, Chelsea pub. New carpets as of today!
23 May 2006 20:26
Wow I just can't wat to go in there and see all the rugby players what an incentive to spend over the odds on average beer, Ian-D what a CLOWN
9 May 2006 20:17
We, and by that I mean about a dozen of us used to go here for a Sunday lunchtime treat, good food and lots of it at a very reasonable price friendly staff (not false and flaky like the one they have there now) We were told after the refurbishment hat it would be "even better" than the "old Plough" I won't swear but the number of cars outside this now spoilt pub on Suday lunchtime speaks for itself, the punters are voting with their feet/wheels SORT IT OUT
9 May 2006 19:48
Richard John Blackler, Liverpool
Smelt of sick with the noise of screaming kids and saw 2 real live scallys in "shell suits" stealing sunglasses to order. Staff probably talking to the punters so it took me over 10 minutes to get served. Who says Liverpool is stereotyped? Eh eh
6 Apr 2006 20:03
Being a "spoons" fan, well in London anyway have to say nice pub shame about the breakfast. In there yesterday and instead of a Lincolnshire banger we got half frankfurter each, and charge for 2 Orange Juices each instead of a pint but at these prices in a smoke free environment nearly happy days
1 Apr 2006 10:32
The Liberty Bounds, Tower Hill
I agree, I go there all the time. Hoegaarden only 2.79 bargain! Staff mostly OK watch out for the Irish Dykey Artist bird. There was a Spanish tourist in here last Saturday and she wouldn't serve him food because he didn't have the table number. Poor bloke couldn't understand. Luckily I knew it was 36 and helped him out, got glared at for my troubles mind you. Hey "SPOONS" put a map up near the bar with table numbers, make life easier. Do I get a years free Hoegees for my customer friendly bright idea
1 Apr 2006 10:29
We went in there the other Saturday to watch the footie and it was really good. Beer and locals friendly. They even shared their bargain buckets with us!
1 Apr 2006 10:17
Just say I liked the pub for the range of good cheap beers but had 2 pikey/chav/social security vermin "birds" nick the money from the bottom of the fruit machine when I wonthe jackpot. When I tugged them about it "scar face" Gary and his loser mate threatened me. OK if you can put up with the pond life (not all the clientelle I hasten to add, good guvnor though)
12 Feb 2006 17:38
The Marquis of Granby, Redhill
Del no longer here not as good as it used to be, but I have only been in at lunch time with the Jobless crew
12 Feb 2006 17:32
If I heard the word Bruv in here on Saturday once I heard it 200 times o the last review must have been lucky shame coz apart from being a bit expensive a good pub with friendly staff
12 Feb 2006 17:28
Oh Dear Oh Dear, what has happned to this once 9/10 pub. As an ex member of the local pubwatch committee I have had 4 different people contact me to complain that the bouncers (who I actually get on alright with) are extremely heavy handed and offensive almost encouraging punters they don't like the look of to try and have a pop at them so they can "legally" retalliate, nothing short of bullies. Sunday roast (boiled parsnips and half a plate of potatoes??? is it a Polish cook thing)leaking roof, in my Sunday potatoes and parsnips!! how long has that been going on, get a better chippie Andy. Sorry folks but still great for sport and breakfast when it is not raining but if you are a 20-40 bloke when the doormen are on or you want a Sunday Lunch avoid
12 Feb 2006 17:25
I agree with the previous comment. The new landlord (went down to Kent to get a barrell of real ale in especially for some of his regulars) and his Mrs are welcoming, friendly regulars good place to go for a relaxing pint. Holsten and Shepherd Neame real ales good.
8 Jan 2006 11:52
My nephew worked here (for a short while) he used to have to translate Portuguese for the bar staff (he doesn't know Polska) but jacked as the manageress made him sell out of date beer (he says). Beware the pikeys for the cheap Sunday lunch they are the ones with big keeper rings and the toddlers with frilly socks patent leather sandals and hoop ear rings, Oh jack russell in the Datsun pick up out back but handy when waiting for the Mrs to pick you up from the station
1 Jan 2006 14:20
A "good old" boozer can get busy at lunchtime with "posties" and "'erberts" out the airport but good VFM. Crawley Scooter Club don't meet there on a Tuesday night (you had to be there)
1 Jan 2006 14:00
anonymous is partly right but it is a "spoons" what do you expect? It is a generic pub for chavs, dossers and women with teeth missing. Redhill and Sheperds Bush etc are other examples BUT it is cheap and they have they best range of beers anywhere. Take my advice go in "power drink" for a few and move on. Brekkie is good value too. Reigate refused to have one!!!
30 Dec 2005 10:13
SloooooooooooW service, young bar staff maybe the cause. A group of us used to go there last year but by the time they had served all the Northern Monkeys waiting to go on holiday it was last orders! Go round the corner to the Greyhound
30 Dec 2005 10:06
Same as before but with music. If you are lucky they will have more than one pint of the speciality beers left
30 Dec 2005 09:58
A "spoons" now 0900 for beer 7 days can't wait for next years Scooter Rally. You know what you are going to get here, good value for money and the early one!
19 Dec 2005 12:12
I go here every August Bank Holiday for the scooter rally. It is a great pub for " the crack" with the mad Bikers that go there too.
19 Dec 2005 12:09
Scooterroy is omnipresent in pubs- see London, Bristol, West Midlands, Oxford, Cambridge, IOW etc.. Went in here the other Sunday night and had a "nice" "mellow" time just chatting and drinking with a few pals. So improving
19 Dec 2005 12:05
I got a bit of a tan when I was down there but it was just Golden not Dark. They don't like old Rick, well at least the locals (I presume they were locals)don't maybe have a "Steiny" day and burn his books like they did in Germany in the 30's, strange race the Cornish LOL Oh beer was ok and good banter.
11 Oct 2005 16:23
Great pub to go to after a day out fishing on the "Cornish Bird" with John Peplar. It gets seriously busy though and the staff don't seem to cope with the clearing up (chips and peas trod into the floor) not their fault like I said seriously busy even for Padstein. Take your glasses back to the bar you tourist types that stay for one and move on and give us locals from Surey a break!
11 Oct 2005 16:16
Don't ask for a draught lager in here they didn't have any. Friendly bar staff though
11 Oct 2005 15:50
Have to say I re-visited this pub for the first time in 13 years the other day and nothing has changed. The carpets, pipes and toilets left without any attention whatsoever for that long, going by the taste of the Kronenbourg, sludge on my shoes and stench of the bog. 2 of the staff, one of whom had a kid running around inside were having a swearing match, choice! There were a few single chav parents outside just to add to the ambience. Avoid like the plague or you will probaby catch it.
11 Oct 2005 15:47
good they have got Magners! in as far as I know the only town centre pub in Reigate to sell it (Sue & Woody are chuffed anyway) In there last night and a really good atmosphere (maybe it was a one off)DJ playing top sounds and a load of lesbians dancing about at the top bit. Bad for crying out loud let people in that are wearing trainers, you can get in with steel toe capped boots and kick the crap out of someone but not with a pair of Reeboks WHY? gone up but only just to a 6
25 Sep 2005 09:50
I know the new (ish) landlord Sef he is a top bloke, should have been a publican years ago he knows the crack. Give this boozer a try. 9/10 just because of the guvnor
22 Sep 2005 19:08
Get in Early on a Saturday and have the full english and by the time you have enjoyed it they are serving, happy days. Not sure how it will fare over the winter months as 2/3 rds of the "space" is outside but friendly staff (except Dill but we are used to that, sure he is a closet Basil Fawlty) always good for sport and something to entertain most nights. Come and try it out, I dare you
21 Sep 2005 19:58
not a bad pub fairly priced busy on a Tuesday for the quiz VERY busy. No music or kids though and very slow service unless you are a local shame coz one or the other or a bit of all 3 would make this a 7 /10 pub
21 Sep 2005 19:51
Is it a Gay pub? more camp people in there than a carry on film.
9 Aug 2005 22:30
Paul McD obviosly sampled the complete range of intoxicatng liquor before he wrote the comment OR he is a relation of an astronaught because the only place that has less atmosphere than this is the MOON
21 Jul 2005 20:49
Pub gets better and better. Now open until midnight Fridays and Saturdays (if you are in y 10,30) reat beer garden extended out th back. I never give 10/10 like Mr George Sell my Physics teacher at Albury Manor so still 9. Do you think Jan and Ian are doing it?
19 Jul 2005 21:46
Skin drank a pint of my wee in here for 50p one night and my brother welched on the payment. Oh the 80's
10 Jul 2005 13:34
The Yew Tree 'Time well spent', Reigate Hill
Very handy if you need a wee after a long drive home on the M25 or back from London. I thought the Kronnebourg was OK maybe it's a real ale and amount through the pipes thing
13 Jun 2005 18:44
The Tickled Ivory Piano Lounge, Reigate
Great discription! is that you burn? depends on what night you go in there but he's not far out Thurs-Sat
13 Jun 2005 18:26
I totally agree with John Bowers a great place to go for a Guinness frenzy
10 May 2005 11:43
Got to agree top food and beer. I haven't been there in the evening but there is just something missing from the atmosphere at lunchtime, maybe music (type of, volume, any at all)
10 May 2005 11:15
Blimey, what has happened to the Chezzie? I went in there the other night to grab a quick beer while I was waiting for my take away and the place looks 100X better mind you it was a bit of a kip before. I would definitely go there just for a bevvie in future, even though they did have a couple of Arsenal fans in there
10 May 2005 11:09
Good pub, great in the summer. They have a play area for the kids. Food is good a little expensive but worth it. Take a loaf of bread and feed the fish in the pond keeps the kids and dads occupied too!
25 Mar 2005 13:44
The Porter and Sorter, Croydon
I was in here one day when Hughie Crean followed through and they wouldn't let him in a cab because of the mess. Some Paddys were running it at the time (not impressed) but all the posties were laughing their nuts off. Don't let the bird with the bondage shop down Lower Addiscombe Rd get you. Great Pub
19 Mar 2005 18:43
The Marquis of Granby, Redhill
Del runs this pub now and you couldn't wish to meet a more aimiable fella. Good facilities, conservatory juke box, seating etc. Not sure they still do under the counter Bensons though????
19 Mar 2005 18:25
Did I say Mick McGinty turned up to his wedding on an elephant! as before a mental man but kind and generous in my opinion
19 Mar 2005 18:20
Andy or Richard must have read my last comment. Machine changed and I won 75 out of it last week. They are getting a family licence soon so you can bring your kids along for the " top" breakfast lunches etc. double handy for single dads. and don't forget girls Les Dove is serious eye candy. Something for everyone now 9.5
7 Mar 2005 14:26
Mick McGinty was a top bloke used to do a disco in The Bell in Reigate on a Thursday night Did a stint at, the not there anymore, Cobbles in Reigate. Then when he had Crocks (now the Dog and Duck) the place used to be heaving and as they say "the craic was good" Mick was one of the boys and missed by many 40ish pissheads. I haven't been in for a while as my shoes got stuck to the carpet last time, has it changed?
27 Feb 2005 11:04
Quality "English" pub a warm welcome excellent food and beer. Beautiful surroundings. Get there early for sunny summer Sunday sessions as the tables in the beer garden fill up quick. You might even get to see Edwina Curry if you are lucky???????????????? Only down side is someone has to drive
27 Feb 2005 10:52
The moon has more atmosphere! Another good family pub now turned into singleton's pub!!
20 Feb 2005 19:28
Top pub with good beer and friendly staff, even if Simon is a geordie. Apart from The White Hart, which is a younger persons pub, and it's special offers, The Bulls Head is the cheapest in the town centre. Great garden in the summer and good food too. Oh Dave arrows is an odd game
20 Feb 2005 10:27
Good pub, should be busier really. Breakfast is top notch, friendly atmosphere. Negative the fruit machine must be switched to the lowest payout percentage, or I'm just unlucky? positive lots of screens for sport, music etc. garden great in the summer, conservatory will get done eventually and Les behind is top eye candy!!!!!!
20 Feb 2005 10:17
Great little bar with friendly staff and good atmosphere. Positive sitting outside on the patio in the summer. Negative don't open until 4pm weekdays anymore and they keep changing the beers otherwise a 10
20 Feb 2005 09:57
The Priory, Reigate
Closed, not missed, serves you right for barring me you jokers. Job Done
22 Mar 2012 18:00
