The Brew House, Altrincham

"incredibly expensive" says the previous post. Whilst some of the rarer drinks may cost a little more than some others, it's very much a case of you get what you pay for. This is the only place in Altincham for many different beers, eg Magic Rock, Summer Wine et al.

It won't be to everyone's taste, as they do not sell mass produced fizz in a jam jar, if that's your thing then there are plenty of other places in Altrincham for you.

The attraction of The Brew House is the range and quality of the beers, the quirky atmosphere and decor and the knowledgable staff.

Like I said, it's not for everyone.

The Brew House, Altrincham

Probably the best selection of British and continental beers for miles around. Superb cask ales from Magic Rock, Summer Wine, Red Willow, Marble, Buxton and others. Wonderful bottled selection including extensive list of specialist Belgian beers (used to be Le Trappiste), owner of the title of Ambassadeur d'Orval, only one in M/cr.
Pieminister pies, table service, knowledgeable staff, a changing guest list, great ambiance, beer garden in the summer and a hosts a beer festival in the Market, next door every August bank holiday weekend.
Why go anywhere else, well done to all concerned, we'll be back soon. One small point, could you not move to the Northern Quarter? We won't have to get the tram home then.

Belgian Bar, Altrincham

The images of this bar are from the old Le Trappiste and not the interior of the Belgian bar.

Belgian Bar, Altrincham

Please don't be confused, by the Belgian Bar at 40, Greenwood St. This is not Le Trappiste, Le Trappiste has moved just down the street to 18, Shaws Rd, It is Altrincham's original and by far the best Belgian Beer Cafe. They have over 150 fantastic Belgian beers, as well as over 20 English real ales. The bar operating at Le Trappiste's old site, is masquerading and trying to live off Le Trappiste's reputation, which has been built up over the years. It is the best by far, try for yourself if you've not been yet.

The previous post is spot on (apart from a slight mispelling of the name).
