The Gary Cooper, Dunstable

Much, much improved pub, as the whole of Wetherspoons seems to have been over the past year or so. Beer consistently in excellent condition, with the JDW usual good mix of beers. Also the JDW usual awful service, though, so that hinders my rating somewhat.

The Wellington Arms, Bedford

Time your visit carefully. Tuesday night often has live music and Fridays and Saturdays are busy enough to drown out the odd couple of locals who seem to look down their noses with disdain at anyone who seems to visit this pub any less than once a week. Beer always good, as are the bar snacks, but some odd choices of beers for a B&T pub (Adnam's and Bass? Are you sure?). Worth a visit, still.

Swan, Flitwick

Beer in consistently good form but agree with other users that the welcome can seem a little frosty if you're not one of the five or six regular old duffers at the front bar. A decent 'town centre' location and I'm told the food is good. Good selection of music on the jukebox and a decent, if a little tatty, pub for a quiet drink on one's own. Nothing special, though.
