The George, Earley

The food is adequate but a little pricey. Avoid busy times (Friday night) as it heaves and service is very slow.....at they can't cope ...best time is summer lunchtimes , busy but not packed. The beer isquite drinkable but not excellent

The Lyndhurst, Reading

Nice boozer - shame the outside is right on Queen's road - but inside beer is good a decent atmosphere and reasonable pub grub.

The Flowing Spring, Playhatch

Great pub and gets very popular on sunny days because of massive beer gaden. Good beer everytime I've been over the last 20 years or so.

Castle Inn, Cold Ash

Used to drink here in the 80s - great pub with fab atmosphere. Re-developed bar areas since then but still a proper pub with fod and several real ales. Had Doom Bar this week which was excllent ... will be going back.

The Fox and Hounds, Tilehurst

proper boozer and probably best pub in Tilehurst. Real ale always good.

The one thing that put me off in the past was the smoke as the ceiling was very low .....but now its lovely and fresh (for a pub!)
