The Lamb, Highbury

This is the ideal place to have a taste of the twilight world of Holloway Road.

The back half of the pub is a perfect venue for a party whether that is a works leaving do or a birthday.

I take the point about some of the regulars - they do look as if they have been extras on a George Romero film and have forgotten to change their make-up and costumes. One or two of them sometimes wear shorts that transgress the boundaries of decency but generally the regulars are informed of a benign malevolence.

The man behind the bar eating the crisps has special needs. He is called 'Crispy' and he apparently drops in every night just to eat two packets of cheese and onion behind the bar and then leaves. I personally think that the kindness of the landlord in providing such indulgence to the less fortunate is to be lauded and not condemned.
