Pleasant pub just round the corner from the chains on dockside. Small range of ales but well kept and various. Some green king, but enough others to avoid them. Food looked good, but didn't sample

The Alehouse, Reading

Now the Alehouse still the same. Excellent selection of real beers and cider cosy rooms out back a must visit if you are in Reading

The Blagrave Arms, Reading

Big single bar, seems to be struggling, but staff very positive and keen. Limited range of ale, but worth a visit if only to see th original Victorian bar, not helped by red paint. Live music at weekends.
