The Lamplighter, St Helier

No wonder why this pub has the highest rating in the island. 8 real ales on hand pump and 4 ciders with a further 3 available from the back room. I decided to stick to halves and tried Liberation EPA, Wychwood Battleaxe, Herm Gold and Ringwood Old Thumper all served in topmost condition. Alas they weren't serving food but this attractive pub full of tankards and comfortable seating with smiling barmaid will certainly get my custom again. A little gem on this wonderful island.

The Peirson, St Helier

Small friendly and clean pub with small al fresco area. Tried a drop of the local Liberation Ale, nice but not perfectly kept. Busy for food, looked appetising but didn't try it.

The Prince of Wales, St Helier

An attractive little pub down a cobbled street in the heart of St Helier, a good range of ales I tried London Pride a little bit hazy but fine and Sharps Doombar but had to return this as it was clearly end of barrel and got a grimace and a grunt from the barmaid. Exchanged for Bishops Finger but did not enjoy as was getting constant glares from the barmaid. Could be a lovely pub with some staff training.
