Trent Navigation, Nottingham

Re-opened again, already in good order due to the investment of the last owners, Good luck to Great Northern Inns who recently took over and redecorated, should have a good future now it has sound management who paid realistic dosh for the property, by all accounts. Beer is all good, beware match day pricing but should be a good match day alternative and local evening watering hole if they keep the nutters under control
Can be reached from the Trent at its confulence with Nottingham canal near Trent Bridge and is a cheaper alternative to the over posh Riverbank for those taking a sunday stroll on the Trent embankment and fancy a pint and a pie. pleasant out door seating area, friendly staff and locals. Look out for Stephen Wrights brilliant Nottingham street photography on the walls, worthy of Magnum. google it!

The Stratford Haven, West Bridgford

Very very good beer , no question, typical Tyne mill, great beer but can take itself a bit seriously.
At busy times with the lack of soft furnishings and due to the large number of punters it gets impossibly loud, as to become unpleasant and impossible to find a seat, Possibly spoiled by its popularity. The comments about the service are very true, there seem to be "dead zones" (tip i found half way down before you go through to the back bar to be best as the bar staff congregate here) However earlier in the week and at less popular times, possibly Tynemill's best outlet.

Trent Navigation, Nottingham

Recently refurbished, The tall tables under the window have the most uncomfortable bar stools anywhere in the world, painful to get on or off. Once on however, the understanding bar-staff bring beer to you when they notice you are empty, So you could end up here for some time as the Beer here is good. (and improving) Nearby Globe still has the edge but is a bit more chilled out here than the Globe and the nearby South-bank, Vinyl Disco is a laugh, though. decor is in very good nick and there is a quieter back room. Green King I believe have an interest but strong local beer supporters also. With this the Globe and the Southbank Trent Bridge makes for a destination once again
