Retired test pilot for Durex, snappy dresser and all round good egg! Will not touch anything but cask ale (preferably on stillage) so needless to say a keen CAMRA member. I make a point of visiting as many pubs as I can (Purely for research you understand......It's a dirty job etc etc)

Oh Dear.....What has happened to The Boot? On my first visit for some time it is now apparent that the "chav" element are encouraged along with a lot of gratuitous bad language and indifferent service. Coupled with Ringwood tampering with Thumper I now see why so many regulars have decamped to the Globe!

Popped in for a beer recently......but no luck. Chronically understaffed the two young ladies behind the bars were more interested in chatting to each other and their mates than serving customers. Gave up eventually and went along to the Red Lion!!
