Jorrocks, Derby

I visited this pub at the weekend as I had heard of its peculiar heritage and thought a spooky visit to Derby was definitely on the cards! This establishment is said to be home to a poltergeist and the remains of a damaged female skull reside behind the bar (an ancient skull discovered in the cellar no less!)

Aside from these little eccentricities and the beautiful frontage this pub was rather a let down. It looks like a quaint 'proper' pub, inviting and suggestive of a cosy pint....this couldn't be further from the truth alas.

The inside is very modernised and there is no doubt that this is a football pub. There is also a Jaegermeister machine behind the bar offering a range of concoctions and shot containing the stuff....above which resides the skull!!!!

Not bad for a curious gander and a quick pint but certainly not one to visit again I don't think!
