The Good Intent, Puttenham

This looked to be a great pub on entry for lunch and the beer was well kept - my Otter particularly so. However, we all felt the food was incredibly disappointing. Truely disgusting chilli con carne, thai red curry swimming in grease and chewy steak & ale pies. Wouldn't eat there again but might come back for beers. The service despite some of the other reviews was actually ok. Perhaps we went on the chef's day off.

The Angel Coaching Inn, Heytesbury

My wife and I have been to the Angel twice in the last two months for lunch both times together and with our 13 year old eldest. Consistantly excellent service with food which although not cheap was beautifully presented and hit the spot each time. Very good fruity guest beer from Yorkshire on first visit. Sunday roasts very good according to sister in law who ate their last Sunday on our recommendation. Eat in the bar if you can.
