The Toby Carvery, Redhill

As others say, the carvery is great value before 7. As you'd expect, it gets busy Sunday lunchtimes, so expect queues, and noisy kids running around. On the plus side, since the staff have become mostly eastern european, the service friendliness and quality has improved remarkably. In past years, on some occasions you'd approach the bar to place your order and it seemed as though you've walked into some raging domestic from the way the staff spoke to you despite you only just arriving. So it's refreshing with the new staff to consistently have a better service and experience all round. If you've been in the past and been put off returning, give it a second chance and see for yourself.

The Prince of Wales, Reigate

Not strictly the pub, but outside, normally between it and the train station, there's the new 'pop up pizza' set up. You may have seen them around Reigate before at other pubs and public spaces? Couple of people tow their oven trailer to a spot and cook pizzas freshly to order normally on a friday night. Usually smells nice as you're passing, but haven't tried it myself.

The Bulls Head, Reigate

We had a brief visit one Thursday night, after wanting to move on from the over-crowded Blue Anchor down the road (which is a fair place itself, and has also had a make over from the old man rustic feel to the more contemporary style too), and to try to find a seat! The Bull's Head is quite different after the make over, if you've been there years ago in the old days. Although this is reflected in their prices - my friend wasn't happy (it was his round) when he handed over the tenner, and the bar staff still wanted more for 2 simple draught pints. On the plus side, perhaps the pricing kept the place quiet so lots of seats available. I think in some ways it's lost some of the old character charm from before, but if you're the fashionable, wine bar, or Tim-nice-but-dim type you'll be content here. (There was a tourette's tory-boy with a kate moss-alike as the only other customers at the time).
