Ned Kellys, Liverpool

Reopened by the same group who have the Richmond and Lord Warden. Typical of their design, it's modern, open plan. Clean and fresh with plenty of light coming in through the panoramic windows. Couple of good real ales on-I has the Southport.

The Rope and Anchor, Dunham Massey

This pub has been ruined by the supposed makeover. What was a welcoming, country local is now a sterile "gastropub". Large TVs and sofas dominate in place of the traditional fittings. Good value homecooked food has been replaced by expensive, posey nosh.
