Too many changes in recent years - used to be a place where you could just sit and enjoy (particularly under the spiral staircase !!) Still worth a visit

The Tap and Spile, York

Visited on a Saturday, so quite busy - so why there was only 1 member of staff behind the bar is a mystery.

Good selection of ales, and a fairly good menu.

Good sized car park - important in this city - if only others knew how to park !!!!

The Old White Swan, York

Attractive pub, nice patio area which will be popular in summer. Not a great deal of seating inside and, as I visited on a Saturday, I was bombarded with football.

Fair selection of beers, reasonably priced. I would visit again, but not on a Saturday
