The Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar, Rydal

This is a bar that you must try if you get the chance whilst in the Lakes! There are some fantastic walks on the doorstep for all abilities and on a good bus route to Ambleside, Keswick, Windermere, etc.!!
It is such a great bar I took 5 of my mates there on 12 January 2013 after a day on the fells and they was not disapointed!!
The ale selection was great and just as important the bar staff were very friendly and wanted to talk to you if you wanted to try a beer before buying one!! The staff appeared to be proud of their bar and was very happy when I told them how good we thought the bar was - you don't always get this kind of reception in a lot of pubs / bars in the Lakes!!
We didn't have fod, but it did look good!!
Can't wait to go back!

The Bulls Head, Tintwistle

If you like a proper country pub that caters for everyone from locals, walkers, mountain bikers, horse riders and dog lovers this is the place to try. The pub is unspoilt and very old - you must have a walk around the whole pub to see how good it really is!!
I go walking and biking all over the uk, including the Lakes, Snowdonia, etc., and there is no greater pub that I like to go to than The Bulls Head after a day on the hills!!
The pub is so relaxed with a great landlord, who is a real character. The beer is excellent with 2 to 3 ales on - the local brew from Howard's Town is fantastic!! The other regular is Taylors Landlord. The food is very nice and homemade - the homemade thick chips, steak pudding and the cheese and onion pie also make me come back at least once a month!!
This pub is well worth a visit - try the Pennine Bridalway first and look forward to going to the pub afterwards! The pub is great throughout the year as they have a huge open fire in the Winter. They also have a nice little beer garden for the odd nice day we get!!

Angel Inn, Dukinfield

I live in Dukinfield and have been waiting a long time for a quality real ale pub that isn't owned by Robbies. I was told to try The Angel out recently and I was very impressed with the ale and pub itself. They had 3 good ales on at the time and one spare pump, so maybe 4 on at busier times. I had Sharps Doombar, which tasted better than when I drink it in Cornwall and one from Hornbeam which was also very good. The beer appears to be kept really well and the pub was very clean and really nice decor.
I will definitely be back and will be telling others about this great pub.
