The Three Horseshoes, Frampton on Severn

The new licensee of The Three Horseshoes, Jess O'Gorman, is working really hard to transform it into the ideal village local. The welcome from her, the dogs and the regulars is very warm to newcomers, and the well-kept beers and remarkable value food only add to the experience. Last week there were three real ales: Uley Cotswold Bitter, Timothy Taylor Landlord and Sharp's Doom Bar, plus local ciders, perry and lagers. The real fire provides a focal point in the front bar, and those not fond of dogs can use the rear lounge bar. Food is cooked by Jess's parents, and is wholesome, home-made fare, using local ingredients. Their signature dish is the "3 Shu Pie", a triple-content confection in two sizes (large and enormous) containing cauliflower cheese / mashed potato and vegetable / your choice of steak, chicken, ham, rabbit or vegetable. It is delicious!
Monday is Quiz Night, Thursday is Music Night, and you might find special events such as the Tuesday Tapas Night we encountered - and very good it was too.
There is stiff competition from the other pub in the village but, for an entirely authentic experience of what a proper village pub ought to be, you could hardly do better.
