Molly Malones, Glasgow

During a recent visit to Glasgow, I met up with local a friend to take in the Celtic v. Aberdeen match. Molly Malone's very clearly a bastion of Celtic Pride. A pretty standard sports boozer made more pleasant by the outgoing staff and, at least for this day, friendly patrons. Two tasty pints of local brew Saint Mungo's Lager and a very good steak and ale pie. Costs? No idea as my friend picked up the tab. Celtic won so a good afternoon all the way around for everyone.

The Edgar Wallace, Temple

Good looking boozer near Temple station. Tiny ground floor room decorated with beer mats, cigarette adverts and, oddly, laundry soap boxes. Definitely eye catching. Good pour of St Austell's Proper Job. Bonus Food Special: Spam Croquettes. Had I the time, I would have tried them out on your behalf. That's my motto here at BITE: "trying out the dodge dishes so you don't have to!" A solid pub worth checking out.

The Princess of Prussia, Tower Hill

Recently visited on a Monday afternoon after having it on my list for months. A beautiful pub both inside and out, classic looking London pub. Spitfire was off and the barman seemed a little confused by the whole thing, checking connections and spinning the tap badge around several times before ultimately concluding that - yes - spitfire was off. Decent pout of masterbrew instead. Thai food menu looked very enticing and I probably should have stuck around to order some. Great tunes being played: Cream, Johnny Cash and my favorite Small Faces tune - "Sha La La La Lee". A perfect moment. Started filling up as I made way out. I'll be back for more some day.
