The Masons Arms, Eastby

I've been to the Masons several times and I have to say it's a classic example of a Dales pub, from its decor, its roaring fires, its friendly bar staff and local - and of course its beer.
It's a brilliant spot to drop into on a cold winter's night or a roasting hot summer's day.
Phil the landlord is a top man and the food is spot-on - nothing pretentious but good, honest and tasty.
It's on a very quiet stretch of road and boasts amazing views of the kind of countryside which is unrivalled anywhere in Britain.
Whenever I'm in the area, I always make a point of dropping by.
I've never stayed in the accommodation upstairs but I'm reliably assured it's good.
When you're at the Masons you truly DO feel you're in ''God's Country''.
