The Waggon and Horses, Oxenhope

Having never visited this pub, we decided to hike there on Saturday 3rd November 2007 hoping to have a meal and enjoy the bonfire and fireworks.
Ordering a meal on a busy night was perhaps a mistake, but it's unforgivable that a "chef" is unable to deep fry a pre-prepared chip. My husband thought the filling for his steak and ale pie was flavoursome, but again was stunned by what passed for pastry. Imagine a partially soaked manila envelope and you have an idea.
I was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt for the dubious quality of the food, as it was a busy evening, until I saw another party receiving far more edible food.
The premises are in need of refurbishment, but the beer was good and the fireworks weren't bad!
