The Phoenix, Oxford Circus

Had the displeasure of this dump last night. Was quietly having food when some random started firing ice at us. Spoke to the barman who had "a word" asked the numpty to leave. The guy returned & continued to insult us & peg ice at us. The "barman" the proceeded to dissappear but knew well the bloke was back in. Had to speak to another bar person to get it sorted. Never again will i touch this place. Staff surly & unwilling attitude was a disgrace & their attitude to the situation was apalling. My partner works around the corner & her & her staff use this place. Never more. Avoid till it grows up

The Ship Tavern, Holborn

Have been a fan of this place for a while now but what's happened. Since the Easter break the prices have sky rocketed. �5.20+ for wine & the Guinness has hit the heady heights of �3.90. It's one of the only places in the area that seems to jump it's prices every few months & though the food is great it just seems overpriced for what it is & when it's busy you have to be prepared to wait. I do like this place but it's letting itself down with it's extortionate prices & the management seem to be set on squeezing as much as they can out of it. I for one won't be back as I can't afford it & the area is full of cheaper alternatives.

The Black Prince, Kennington

Am a fan of this places sister pub in Holborn(The Ship) but only recently found this places was owned by the same people. Another gem. Clean friendly pub & a cracking chatty landlord. Its kind of got a front living room feel to it, the beer is great & the food quality standard fayre. Its also got big screens for the sport too and added bonus. Another great pub & i hope to become a regular here too.Love it
