The Railway Inn, Yatton

When I 1st walked in the place still resembled the exact spot that Isambard Kingdom Brunel spent his lunchtimes while in the process of building his railway line past this pub.

In fact the place was a step back in time and Brunels cigar smoke still hung in the air (nothing had changed not even the decor since the 1850s) in fact I was quite annoyed that there was the posiblity I had gone through a time warp and would have to travel back home in a horse and cart.

Thankfully that was not the case and my car was still outside.

A more recent visit and the place has been taken over by new landlord and lanlady thankfully the weird old essentric women has now gone and food and beer is back on the menu.

An attempt has been made to clean the carpets and suck up all the years of urines and the place is definately cleaner and plesent, so recomend a visit, even by train as there is a conveneint platform jut a few yards from the pubs frontdoor
