The Roebuck Inn, Alcester

Pub has new owners and been refurbished since the last posts. We recently visited for lunch in the week. Friendly welcome and service. Beer selection and quality only fair. Lunch menu comprehensive, but when my first choice was unavailable, the spider crabs were recommended - and I spent an uncomfortable afternoon!!
Not a drinking pub, particularly when there are so many good pubs nearby, and perhaps more attention to the food before it can be recommended as a restaurant venue.

The Lord Nelson, Alcester

Recently re-opened after change of management and refurbishment (you can enter through the front door again!). Excellent selection of good ale, including one dark. Lunch-time snacks good value. Pleasant beer garden at rear - if we ever get a summer.
Another worthy pub in the town. Well worth a try.
