Broadwater, Worthing

It was refurbished a while back, and now has quite a nice interior. There's not really any interesting beer and the prices are standard for worthing (£3.30-70/pint). It's fine during the daytime, though the food isn't brilliant.

The problem with this pub is that post-refurb, they've gone to great lengths to try to appeal to a younger audience. This consists of getting in a DJ (who is poor at best, and only recently was given an actual table to use rather than putting his equipment on a pool table) and blasting out music so loud you cannot hear yourself think. It's louder than some nightclubs.

The knock-on effect has been that there is no reason to stay in this pub after 8:30, and the number of customers has declined quite a bit for this reason too. It's embarassing to watch the staff shunting around the pool tables to make space for a dancefloor. I've been 10+ times and only seen one person on the dancefloor, a woman in her forties who was hammered.
