Much improved in recent times. Passable ale and cheap and cheerful food. A good place to watch football or have a game of pool.

The Village, Walthamstow

When I moved to Walthamstow 10 years ago, this was THE pub. Now it wouldn't even occur to me to go there. I'd go to the Nags Head or more likely the Rose & Crown which is well on it's way to being the best pub in Walthamstow.

As for the Village on the rare occasions I've been in during the last couple of years it seemed tatty and the beer was shite. Sort your beer out and I might come back, if not forget it.

The Rose and Crown, Walthamstow

This is a much improved pub. Was astonished to find Crouch Vale Brewers Gold in a pub in Walthamstow. And it tasted like nectar!

I'm intrigued to see how far this pub can go and the theatre idea would add a bit of much needed culture to the area.

Watch out Nags Head!
