The last time we went back here (for football) Snarling Mallard which would be about last April (2011) or so very much got the same impression I'm afraid. Had gone downhill quite a lot since my 2008 review.

The Old Bank of England, Fleet Street

I'm with JdeP on this one. Used to drink here a lot. The interior is still amazing.

But it is pricy even for the area, and I'm also not sure either that the beer quality is what it once was.

Resting on it's laurels somewhat IMHO.

Probably a fair comment about beer variety Steamer1; tend to drink Crouch Vale, Harveys etc. if in here, as they are the sort of beers I prefer, but if that sort of thing is not to your taste could see the range as being a bit samey.

Very good though all told; can get very busy first thing after work especially on a Thursday or Friday but usually quietens down after an hour or two.
