The Galton Arms, Himbleton

Proper old fashioned country pub. You can eat there, but really it's a stand at the bar & drink sort of place. Quite small inside and not much seating; log fire in corner and sky tv on Sunday lunchtime for the football. Regulars/locals are loud and not too welcoming [but not malicious; just not concerned about you]. Pub has a front garden for warm evenings. They keep a good pint of Bathams, Pedigree and Banks's on draft.

The Fir Tree Inn, Oddingley

This pub has changed a lot since 2004. It has had a complete refurbishment, the service & food has improved and they have a good choice of beers; Tim Taylors Landlord, Hookey and Blacksheep on draught plus all the regular stuff.
Food in the restaurant is good now if a tad pricey; bar snacks are OK.
Has a pleasant garden for warm evenings.
Very friendly behind the bar; they make you welcome.
