I used to love going into The Spotted Cow after college, sinking a few, then catching the bus home with friends. Great times. Half-decent pub within 100 yards of Huddersfield New College.

The Snooty Fox, Wakefield

Great atmosphere if a little cramped. Jam Night on Wednesdays. Can't be bad. The odd drunken nutter, there aren't enough of them. I've personally played a few gigs there with a band. Great support from the locals even though we played atrociously. And, of course, you can't fault the legendary DJ Malc. Great guy.

The West Riding Refreshment Rooms, Dewsbury

Great little pub in the train station. I always pop in for a jar or two when I get off a train in Dewsbury. Fantastic local ale, footy on the telly, beer garden, friendly regulars and a toilet under the stairs. What more could you ask for? Plus, they have a great music festival every summer which lasts three days. Fantastic pub. Best in Dewsbury.
